Small Business Incubator

Starting and successfully maintaining a small business is a diffucult undertaking. The Small Business Administration states that only 49% of small business start-ups survive the first four years. According to Dun and Bradstreet, these failures can be attributed to two primary factors: lack of planning and poor management.

Area Five has entered into a partnership with The Logansport/Cass County Chamber of Commerce and the Logansport/Cass County Economic Development Foundation to form the Business Solutions Group (BSG) to addresses these issues. The BSG offers future and existing entrepreneurs a comprehensive program that will address the business planning process while increasing knowledge of general business management principals.

The Small Business Incubator Program exists to support and stimulate small business development in the local community. Through a Rural Business Enterprise Grant awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture, reduced interest loans and technical assistance funds are available to qualified start-up and existing businesses. In addition to funding, the program offers a variety of small business services including professional consultations, business planning, and seminars.
