Established in 1974, Area Five Agency on Aging and Community Services is an independent not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of the elderly, the disabled and the disadvantaged members of North Central Indiana.

Geri-Fit Instructor – Miami County (part-time)
Geri-Fit is a fantastic exercise program using light weights and bands to improve mobility, stability, and agility. This proven method has shown great success for those who regularly attend. Area Five is searching for a compassionate instructor who will be willing to lead these sessions in Miami County. You should be excited to work with persons over 60 years of age, energetic, and ready to benefit greatly from the experience!
Head Start Preschool Positions
Directs activities of the Head Start program to provide instruction and care for children and families. Responsible for program planning and implementation of all activities in the PFCE Component as outlined in National Head Start Performance Standards, Indiana Licensing Regulations, and local component plans. Responsible for scheduling and facilitating a parenting program. Assist parents in organizing a parent group to meet monthly, and plan and schedule educational activities as identified by parents to meet their need, including organization of social events. Assist in the development of Community Partnerships and assist in facilitating Policy Council. Supports staff for child abuse and neglect services. Direct activities of staff in providing direct services to families. Participate in the process and analysis of the community assessment. Coordinate and assist staff in the implementation of the PFCE component, which includes the development of Family Partnership Agreements and Family & Parenting Matrices. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelors of Advanced Degree in Human Services, Social Services or Education or related fields.
Assists the Lead Teacher in planning and executing all component services for Head Start children and families according to the National Head Start Performance Standards and the local component plans. Must be reliable, patient & caring with children ranging from 3-5 years old. Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) required, Area Five is willing to assist with the cost of obtaining CDA.
Head Start Teacher Assistant – Logansport (Full-Time)
Assists the Lead Teacher in planning and executing all component services for Head Start children and families according to the National Head Start Performance Standards and the local component plans. Must be reliable, patient & caring with children ranging from 3-5 years old. Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) required, Area Five is willing to assist with the cost of obtaining CDA.
Substitute Head Start Teacher Assistant – Rochester (As Needed)
Assists the Teacher/Family Facilitator in planning and executing all component services for Head Start children and families according to the National Head Start Performance Standards and the local component plans. Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) required, Area Five is willing to assist with the cost of obtaining CDA.
Substitute Head Start Teacher Assistant – Logansport (As Needed)

Nutrition / Kitchen Positions
Kitchen Assistant - Logansport (Part-Time)
This is an opportunity to be a part of a great culinary team who serves seniors in our six-county service area. Employee would be assisting with prepping, preparing, and packaging nutritious meals in the Logansport Kitchen, which will be served at our meal sites. Desirable employee will have a positive attitude, work well with others, be able to lift up to 40 pounds, and work mornings. Schedule would be Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to occasionally drive to other Area Five Agency locations in our surrounding counties.
Nutrition Site Manager – Wabash (Part-Time)
Scheduled shifts are Monday thru Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Facilitates the serving of the noon meal program. Duties may include: calling in meal reservations in a timely manner, maintaining appropriate documentation and money handling procedures, following proper portion control servings, etc. Must be sensitive to the needs of older adults & have a valid driver’s license.
Assistant Nutrition Site Manager – Rochester (Part-Time)
Part-time position, only 2 days per week from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Assists serving of the noon meal program. Duties may include: calling in meal reservations in a timely manner, maintaining appropriate documentation and money handling procedures, following proper portion control servings, etc. Must be sensitive to the needs of older adults & have a valid driver’s license.
