Family Support Specialist – Miami/Wabash Counties (part-time)
Healthy Families is a home visitation program in which you will apply working knowledge of parent-child interaction, child development, safety issues, and the dynamics of child abuse and neglect to help enrolled families improve parenting skills and reduce family stress. Must be able to accurately prepare reports, documentation & data entry, communicate effectively, handle crisis situations in a calm manner, type & have computer knowledge, be organized and efficiently manage time. College degree preferred and/or one to three years’ experience or training working with infants and young children and in working with parents. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and proof of car insurance.
Head Start Preschool Positions
Head Start Lead Teacher - Rochester (Full-Time)
Assists the Lead Teacher in planning and executing all component services for Head Start children and families according to the National Head Start Performance Standards and the local component plans. Must be reliable, patient & caring with children ranging from 3-5 years old. Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) required, Area Five is willing to assist with the cost of obtaining CDA.
Head Start Food Server / Teacher Assistant – Rochester (Full-Time)
Serves meals to children during Head Start program by performing the following duties: Monitor temperature of food and serve food according to the serving sizes noted on the menu. Take dishes, plates, & silverware to classroom for teachers. Fill silverware containers after each meal and check on these during service to assure that there are plenty of napkins for each classroom. Fill and sanitize bottles and test the water, and clean up the kitchen equipment. Give Teacher's Assistants and or Teachers a 10-15 minute break if possible. Help staff clean up classroom by washing tables and emptying trash cans if possible. Kitchen must be cleaned daily including, sweeping floor, emptying trash, wiping counter, cart, shelves, cleaning warmer and refrigerator, and washing dishes. Check and report supply needs daily. Fill condiment containers as needed so they are full for the next time. Fill all food service requests from the teachers and teacher's assistants. (i.e. seconds on food, silverware, napkins, salt, condiments, cleaning tables, and emptying trash cans that include food.) Check to see if the teachers need anything during meals. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Parent Family Community Engagement (PFCE) Manager - Logansport (Full-Time)
Directs activities of the Head Start program to provide instruction and care for children and families. Responsible for program planning and implementation of all activities in the PFCE Component as outlined in National Head Start Performance Standards, Indiana Licensing Regulations, and local component plans. Responsible for scheduling and facilitating a parenting program. Assist parents in organizing a parent group to meet monthly, and plan and schedule educational activities as identified by parents to meet their need, including organization of social events. Assist in the development of Community Partnerships and assist in facilitating Policy Council. Supports staff for child abuse and neglect services. Direct activities of staff in providing direct services to families. Participate in the process and analysis of the community assessment. Coordinate and assist staff in the implementation of the PFCE component, which includes the development of Family Partnership Agreements and Family & Parenting Matrices. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelors of Advanced Degree in Human Services, Social Services or Education or related fields.

Duties may include: calling in meal reservations in a timely manner, maintaining appropriate documentation and money handling procedures, following proper portion control servings, etc. Must be sensitive to the needs of older adults & have a valid driver’s license.
